Thanks for visiting Carina Gardner’s studio site. Creativity is an integral part of Carina’s life! She has always loved working with her hands—creating beautiful things out of fabric and paper. As a child she would break the needle on her mom’s sewing machine making barbie dresses, hide in the closet writing plays, and doodle to her heart’s content. As an adult, she tries very hard to include beauty in her life whether with her three children, in her designs, or home.
Carina has a Ph.D. in Design from the University of Minnesota. She taught design at the University of Minnesota for five years before starting Carina Gardner, Inc. She has taught Graphic Design Foundations, Typography, Design Theory, and Packaging Design at the University of Minnesota.
She designs fabrics for Riley Blake Designs and is the Creative Director for Carta Bella Paper Company. She manufacturers and designs a line of sewing patterns that can be found in quilt shops around the world.
She also designs wallpaper (carinagardnershop.com), dishware (Deseret Book), digital scrapbooking (jessicasprague.com), and digital die cuts (carinagardnershop.com). She also teaches Illustrator and design courses on her site.
