Samantha Walker, Designer
http://samanthaleewalker.blogspot.com/
Samantha’s designs are influenced by her childhood memories of the colorful 70‘s, and her many traveling opportunities. She graduated from BYU with a BFA in illustration design. Shortly after, she got married, and became a military wife–moving to Japan just one month after getting married. She lived there for three years–just south of Tokyo in the hustle and bustle of big city life. While there, she took the opportunity to take Sumi-e painting classes (calligraphic flower painting.) She traveled a lot within Japan, and also explored: Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, and Bali. She says, “The imagery of my travels has been engrained in my mind, and has a tendency to naturally creep out into my artwork when I least expect it. I’m grateful for those experiences.”
